the raj seems to have had a lot of bad press but- you get what you pay for.good basic accomodation- our room was a good size clean and tidy(the Rajpoor on the ground floor). continental breakfast was very basic but as a base to explore edinburgh it is good value.There might be a problem in high season getting breakfast because the dining room could only accomodate about 12 at a time.so if everyone arrived at the same time there would be a bit of a queue- so you would be better offf walking 5 mins down the road to starbucks or one of the other cafes.
